Dressing up for an interview? A common stumbling block among job hunters. But once you get accepted, what’s next?
Being overdressed or underdressed for an interview is understandable, especially if it is your first time to be exposed in the company’s environment. After the successful interview, you are led to your desk, and it is your turn to ask questions and observe:
- is there a dress code?
- Are they strict with the kind of shoes worn?
(some companies do not allow women to wear slip-ons and sandals – closed, high heeled shoes is a must!)
- are they strict with hairstyles and accessories? (in some companies, colored hair is a no-no)
Also consider the environment – is it air conditioned? You might need a coat or sweater. If it is warm and humid, a smart short sleeved polo shirt or blouse might be more appropriate.
